Richard served for fifteen years on the board of the C.W. and Modene Neely Charitable Foundation, and for approximately five of them, he served as its President. He currently serves on the board of the Arizona Community Foundation, Arizona’s largest grant-making body. His personal giving to public charities and educational institutions has also been extensive. He has been a board member of, or advisor to, many charitable organizations.
Countless hours of pro bono legal services were also contributed by Richard to a variety of charitable organizations since l978, including, but not limited to, the East Valley Hospice, the Mesa Soccer Club, the Arizona Agricultural Education/FFA Foundation, the Phoenix Zoo, and the Episcopal Church.
